This Music CD, pays tribute to the classic 1960's TV series icon, "Mister ED," and features new recordings of the theme song, along with songs from the episodes, "Ed the Songwriter," and "Mister Ed's Blues," respectively. In light of the discovery of the sheet music for "The Pretty Little Filly," and "Empty Feedbag Blues," these songs have been recorded, as written, by the late songwriter, Sheldon Allman, who was the original singing voice for Mister Ed. "MISTER ED UNPLUGGED," faithfully captures the charm of the shorter versions, of these songs, sung by Mr. Allman. The Musicians and vocalists, who recorded the tracks, for this CD, followed the original sheet music, from the theme song, composed by Ray Evans, and Jay Livingston, along with Mr. Allman's compositions, to create the adaptations of these three songs.
It's hard to believe a horse actually wrote--let along sang--these songs!
If you're a Mr. Ed fan--or would like to be--"Mr. Ed Unplugged" is the only source (including the TV show and DVDs) for the complete, uncut versions of these songs.

Singer/Songwriter Sheldon Allman, provided the original singing voice of Mr. Ed, but, did not record the longer versions, of the songs he wrote for "Ed the Songwriter," and Mr. Ed's Blues." Mr. Allman, was noted for writing novelty tunes, including "George of the Jungle" and "Monster Mash."
The new versions of the "Mr. Ed Theme Song," "The Pretty Little Filly," and "Empty Feedbag Blues," were recorded to emulate, as close as possible, the original perfomance of these songs.
