Lill-Babs did "It's My Party" at the time in Swedish as Leva Livet, and then Marianne Kock covered "You Don't Own Me" as Jag Vill Ha Dig. I can't find Oon Sun Autos by contemporary Finnish artists like Marion Rung of Brita Koivunen... but I seem to have come to the right place to ask my question. Aside from Klaus Nomi's English-language cover, was there ever a Finnish-language version of "You Don't Own Me"?

@quadibloc I'm no expert and can't answer that, but I can tell you that the lyrics to "Oon Sun Autos" were written by Jaana Rinne (the wife of Clifters' frontman) for the band, so there are no versions by other artists. Clifters did two albums with all translated songs, and for the most part the lyrics had nothing to do with the originals. For example "Oon Sun Autos" means "I'm Your Car". The Beatles' "Here Comes to Sun" became "Elekieltä" or "Body Language". Check out my vids for a few more.

I love Lesley, but I never cared that much for her re-recording heard here of

IT'S MY PARTY - it has no bottom to it, it's too pristine sounding and doesn't have the raw edge that the original Mercury Recording had - however, anything by LESLEY GORE is fine by me - she rules.

This recording of It's My Party is from a Japan only release titled Forever Seventeen: Lesley Gore Meets Bobby Vee. Lesley re-recorded six of her hits for this album. The original It's My Party was recorded March 30, 1963.

Her voice sounds as if it's some what higher than most girl groups singers of the era

Miss gore is one of my favorite songers & is a big influence on my vocals

I love this song. I love the song in French by a French male singer too "C'est ma fête". "It's my party and I cry if I want to... You would cry too if it happened to you".
