As of today, four people "dislike" this. That's insane. I mean, really -- what kind of crazy person doesn't like this?

Gorgeous.

Price's singing of Mozart was really lovely! You say like it or not; I should like to say that I like it, and very much, too! Thanks for your post.

@liedersanger1 Actually she DID sing the Countess...there is a pirate recording I used to own on Paragon I believe that has her singing the entire role. Might be a great find!

Like it or not, Price WAS A MOZART SOPRANO, not just a Verdi soprano. Her early career was mostly Mozart & she was fond of the genre. She never sang the Countes in full-length Figaros but she sang Donna Anna in Don Giovanni numerous times at the Salzburg Festival under Karajan & at the Met. She sang Elvira in Giovanni (Leinsdorf recording), Pamina's aria Ach ich fuhls, Mozart concert arias, arias from Idomeneo, Re Pastore, etc. She was a talented Mozartian soprano!

The finest operatic voice. man or woman, of the age....Truly a miracle

@liedersanger1 Thanks. Yeah it seems a pity. Still it's great to have this much.
-
@jfjhew83 She never sang the Countess on stage. (A pity it seems to me.) And she never recorded the complete role. She recorded the Countess' two arias and Susanna's Deh vieni on RCA recordings.

Did Ms. Price actually sing the role of Countess in a production of Figaro and if she did who was Suzanna and is there a CD? Would love to hear her sing the Letter Duet. I love this Dove sono so much. Thanks for posting.
