  • @KayBeeEee1983 Well, in your terms, maybe it takes a psychopath to be an effective army officer. Especially back in those days when they were on the field trying to orchestrate thousands of soldiers in the midst of battle. Watch a battle scene from "Gods and Generals". The way Jackson, as well as everyone else was were Professionals. At home and/or away from war they probably go through a lot of mental anguish. For example alot of combat vets have to seek therapy from post-combat depression.

  • @lattimore4heisman11 Do yourself a favor and do some research on psychopathy. Can't get much more psychologically tough than a psychopath.

  • @KayBeeEee1983 Do yourself a favor and do some research about army officers, and soldiers for that matter. An officer that is going to lead men into battle is selected in part by his ability to be psychologically tough, and not buckle under extreme stress.

  • Stonewall Jackson was a psychopath. Shelby Foote said he had a habit of "overlooking suffering". I take that to mean he was a sadist without empathy. I don't know how a devout Christian could be so unfeeling. Shelby Foote also told a story about Jackson eating a peach while surveying the carnage at Antietam. How can someone have an appetite while looking at thousands of dead people? Foote also says Jackson's eyes would "light up" during battle. That tells me he was a psycho.
