The sound of some of them is similar to some of our metro trains, I think they use similar equipment from ABB or Thales & the like.

That could be, thos UT-450 were start to built by Alstom and CAF in 1992 and are quit similar to the Z 20500 running around Paris.

At 2:05 I take it those trains have low floor spaces for wheelchairs & the like?

Very revealing - great to see Spanish investment in rolling stock. The high speed train looks similar to the UK-French-Belgian Eurostars, including proper articulated bogies.
