Women's Fair Trade Group in Kitui, Kenya, Rebecca's homeland

Rebecca took me to her mother's home in Kitui, where she grew up. It is very dry there so people there can not subsistence farm, but must sell to eat. She told me how her father had worked very hard before he passed away and now she also works hard to provide for her mother and siblings. This is a women's group she set up to make jewelry so that these women, also, can provide for their families. Venture Imports is very happy to team up with ladies like these. :-) (Rebecca is holding sisal, which comes from this area.)
