@blackmore4 I think the trumpets are waht does it here. I think the song would have been much improved had the trumpets in the song been replaced with strings.

@tomjordan91 if i was at that college there would piles of rubbish tell the teachers i have the polydor single and there single YOU WONT FIND ANOTHER FOOL LIKE ME knocked the slade classic merry xmas off the top.

as part of a new campaign my college in Scunthorpe plays this song as punishment to students who drop litter around the college hahaha

Wasn't the biggest fan when this came out but now looking back i think it is actually not bad and relevant today!

I wouldn't have minded Britain staying a little more shabby if it had meant this rotten tune being left on the cutting room floor. Again, great voices squandered.

I agree. They often veered a little close to that weird golf-socks combination of German beer-dance with Tequila-Tijuana and here they define it. Great voices wasted.

No, not a SFE, but it was part of the 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaign in 1973. Sadly due to lack of promo in the UK, due to the group being in the USA, the song wasn't a hit!
