B-Turtle, not an expert either. I do recall reading or seeing somewhere (The History Chan) about the ancient Greeks. They pulled from the populace ppl to serve in the senate. Most could only serve a short time, and they cold be banned for life by the senate vote. There was no indication from which they pulled ppl to serve. It may very well have been a glossed over version. The part I liked the most was the self sanctioning of senators. And if I recall right the majority did not serve long

Also Fox Network has alot of non-conservative programming. Simpsons is progressive. Family Guy  is not liberal but certainly not conservative.

Atleast FOX network is "balanced" enough to air differing programming. Not often is Family GUy called a right wing mouthpiece. But I cant think of any conservatism on NBC

Yes they had senates, but the senators were of the upper class only. In many greek city states senators were senators for life.

Maybe you are correct about one city state, I am not an expert on the civic organization of all greek cities, but most were not as you discribe.
