On Sunday, March 19, 2000, New Trier Green became only the 2nd team in the history of Illinois high school hockey to win 3 consecutive State Championships.

Prior to 3/19/00 Mt. Carmel stood alone as the only team to have achieved the distinction for their consecutive titles in 1986, 1987, 1988.

In the following two years The Green team continued to make history by adding two additional State Championships to the record for a total of 5 consecutive titles - a record which still stands.
