Senator Bob Bennett (R-UT) responds to a negative ad attacking the Healthy Americans Act, the only bipartisan health care bill being debated in Congress. It would provide accessible, affordable, and portable health insurance for every American while saving tax payer money. Club for Growth FALSELY labels the HAA as a government-run system and says the HAA will cost more than a trillion dollars, when in fact the HAA has been declared deficit neutral by the Congressional Budget Office and predicted to save money.

I'm sure on on 9 out of 10 issues I support the policy positions of the Club for Growth because I am very conservative on budget and finance issues, but this ad against Bennett was just stupid and misinformed. Bennett's healthcare proposal is a largely conservative approach to fixing the healthcare problems AND it could actually pass the Congress. We need problem-solvers in Washington and we need to keep Bob Bennett there.

I am a was a supporter of Mark Shurtleff, but I am disappointed with the Club for Growth ad and his campaign style. I think I'll be supporting Bob Bennett again.
