  • @Sharpround and yes, it does pretty much come down to cost and overall quality somewhat. Although its not always the case.

  • @Sharpround so continue on from my last comment. I'd definitely recommend you use a long throw line array like the HK Contour array, the HK Cohedra, or the EV XLINE to list just a few, but i'm sure there is plenty of other options out there for this work. Take a look at the QSC K series speakers. I used a set of K12s for a small festival last summer and they projected further than any other 12" speaker i've ever used in the past.

  • @Sharpround You could use delay towers if thats what your comfortable with. I personally prefer using a long throw system for the sonic quality as you mentioned, and because I have more experience with that than delay towers. I imagine the JBL line array is really good, I'm just going on experiences I've had with all the other JBL speakers I've used in the past. I could say the JBLs and delay lines wont do the job just cause i don't like them, but the truth is they most likely will.

  • @KayGee9345 so for most applications it simply comes down to cost and overall quality then? having said that, the JBL system that you mention would seem suitable for most applications in my view because in this video; the distance covered would suggest to me that delay towers could be used, or would it simply be a long throw system all the way to maintain sonic clarity at the back. all in all though i imagine it would depend on application.

  • @Sharpround I've not yet seen a JBL pa system that can do this, but their line array might be capable of a long throw. My experience of JBL is that there not very efficient in throwing the sound out past a certain distance, they are more ideal for smaller indoor gigs. I have worked with this system before and it is very impressive indeed. However, the ElectroVoice XLINE system is just as efficient and sounds as clear as the HK Contour. Most Line Array systems share these characteristics.

  • would an industry professional tell me if a JBL can do that?

  • @sokerdan Die sind auch für stadien... Wenn die leise währen würde kein mensch line arrays benutzen

  • i got myself HK boxes because theres great quality in them. and they go loud, i mean 130 DB for a single satelite speaker... oO

  • how long is the distance ?

  • YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS FUCKING AWSOME !!!
