what is the youngest age you can take a puppy away from their mother and to your home?

We have a Vizsla and she is awesome! She doesn't shut up though haha. Always groaning and saying something. She's energetic in the day and was nuts as a pup. By night she loves a cuddle and won't go to bed without being completely covered over by a blanket. Crazy dog!

It is bad for me to be watching this video. Recently looked after a friends two vizlers for two weeks and utterly fell in love and THEN they mentioned they might have another litter with the bitch before she gets to old (4 at the moment) And offered me one of the puppies.so very tempted althrough I have always had gun dogs in the past (mostly rescue labs) I feel I may have been converted.
@XxMrMcFluffyxX - In California it is illegal to sell or adopt out puppies before 8 weeks old. Reputable breeders will keep their puppies until 8-10 weeks old, sometimes longer.

@markd514 What a sad story. Inbreeding refers to the mating of related individuals. In-breeding over many generations can lead to compromised health among the offspring. As a general rule - bad genes in related dogs promote bad genes. Always get your puppy from a Reputable Breeder! To find a Vizsla breeder in the US, visit the Vizsla Club of America website for the breeder referral contact, OR check with your local Vizsla Club.

This is adorable !
We just recently got a vizsla, hes about 19 weeks old now. Hes a handful, but he sure is worth the work. Hes getting so big already, and hes a huge suck. Always wanting attention.
Great video! Keep it up.

Congrats on your new puppy. If you haven't already done so, enroll in a basic obedience course. This will improve his "focus" and your human/dog bond . . . not to mention classes provide the all important *socialization*! Enjoy your boy and have fun : )

@captainkorea - Thank you for your comment. We raise our puppies to the highest standards. This means they are raised indoors where they are exposed to all the noises that occur inside the house. This is a critical component to their socialization. They also learn to use a doggie door to aid in housebreaking.
