Microsoft recently announced that it will park more than 150 shipping containers filled with servers in its huge new data center in Chicago. Microsoft Director of Data Center Research Daniel Costello provided a detailed look at Microsoft's plans for its CBlox data center containers during the GigaOm Structure 08 conference in San Francisco on June 25.

  • @mclmatty i think the tb per each one is 10,000TB

  • So... They basically copied Google. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't tried to patent this to send their patent trolls after the big G. Note: It's speculated that Google originally put their servers in sea containers because they may build am offshore sustainable server farm off the coast of California (Ie, the sea containers are used to make transport/replacement easier.
