  • Hunter S. Thompson was an important writer who invented 'gonzo journalism' and wrote many famous books that were popular amongst a sub-set of the American counterculture. A lot of actors etc like him because they like to live vicariously through his writings and got a charge out of being around a man who lived life on the edge at all times.
