10/17/91 Mass Shooting in Killeen TX that Took 23 Lives

A report from ABC News on the October 16, 1991 shooting at a Killeen TX restaurant (Luby's Cafeteria)...when a gunman (George Hennard) took 23 lives, injured another 20 and then killed himself...when he drove his pick-up truck through the front glass of the restaurant then began shooting. This was the worst shooting rampage in the U.S. until the 2007 Virginia Tech masacre that took 32 lives. I was in Ft hood texas 1st cav,day before this happened i ate here the guy who did this lived on main street in temple texas 3 houses away! This man was always pretty strange no we dont need tighter gun control but we need to deal with the mentally defective in society! Many times its simply how some are treated over and over they work up to this!

I lived in Killeen during this time.. my cat's Vet from Copperas Cove and an administrator from school were killed. It was horrible. We had early out at the school and next I knew, our community was in shock. I found out at around 12:30pm that day when my dad was watching CNN and the breaking news hit.
