SO FAST!

@Lilfrank2567 Just to clear it up some more...
1) The BART trains "beep" to tell that they are approaching. If people are too close to the boarding line, the operator can sound an air-powered horn which is REALLY loud in comparison to the electric beeper horn.
2) The black square is just there to tell people where to line up, because the train's doors will always align within about a foot. When BART opened, this was a great innovation because you don't have to guess the placement of the doors.

Was that a Richmond train on the other platform?

dude how do people know where the train is going its not like others that they have a screen with the route and destination

They have the platform displays in red that you see flashing train destination and car length. Similar to WMATA's displays, except those ones display other info (elevator status, other train info) even as the train is at the platform.

2 questions 1 why do the bart trains honk when they arrive at a station and 2 y on the platforms they have that small black square to the doors

1) let riders know that a train is approaching and to stay behind the yellow line. if they get too close, sometimes the big horn gets sounded off.
2) black square helps people line up accordingly so it's not a free for all at platforms that are really busy

Haha, I'm sure they looked cool when they came into service decades ago. They've proved to be very dependable, and the interior is very nice, but I have to say that it's time for new trains. The 7000s that WMATA are getting for the Tysons extension look awesome.
