Volunteers from all walks of life; firefighters, coastguard, electricians, painters, plumbers, carpenters to name but a few got together and decided to save an old crumbling fort in Crosshaven overlooking Cork Harbour. They restored a small portion of the vast fort complex and what a magnificent job they have done. Watch and listen to this wonderful story about Extraordinary Volunteers from the seaside town of Crosshaven near Cork Ireland.
Stayed there on camp with the FCA in 1985, brilliant place, pity the big guns were taken away and scrapped just like what was done to wood quay (destroying our history). Passing over that old wooden bridge across the deep gully and looking down from an army bedford lorry was a scary experience indeed. Well done the people of Crosshaven!
