So, I'm sitting in my sunroom on this sunny Monday morning and I keep hearing this knock on the window, but don't take much notice of it for about 5 minutes.

I get up and look and I see that a robin is repeatedly flying into the window. Birds fly into the windows all the time... but never OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

This thing has been going at it for over 5 hours now (and running)... so I decided to film it with my digital camera (even some outside shots) and edit the footage together.

  • Considering that this is the only bird that has done it repetitively like that in the 13 year history of my sun-room that is covered with windows, I think it's a bit of a special case.

I think it must've started as what you said and then it literally knocked the bird crazy.

  • This robin is just reacting to stimuli like any other animal. It sees its reflection in the window and is trying to chase the "intruder" away. What do we call videographers who continually turn their camera sideways?

  • Well, I know that. I'm not dense. But when the bird does this for 7 or 8 days straight and then leaves, comes back a week later and continues it for another week... something else is wrong. This went on long after I made this movie. And about the camera...

I don't know. What DO we call these people? I filmed this with a digital camera that only takes poor quality 60-second videos at a time. I made the best from what I had and yes, sometimes that included sideways shots. Thank you very much.

  • lol! when i was younger, i remember when i was having a maths test and the teacher was walking by the window and then all of a sudden a bird flys into the window and it gave my teacher a heart attack or something because she was very fat

  • I remember crow birds at the school courtyard used to eat paint chips and go blind, then fly into windows and kill themselves. We got so many detentions for laughing hysterically at "nothing".

  • i would like a momment of silence for the bird me and my friends saw bash very hard into a window.

we all heard the bang. it would of hurt.

unfrotunatly it died lying on the ground, we couldnt save it :(

i promised we tried not to laugh at the stupid bird :)(

  • LOL! we have big picture windows & constantly have birds fly full speed ahead outta the sky into oyr windows. there was 1 time i actually got up outta my chair & looked out the window in time i saw the bird that hit 1 of our windows flopping around on the ground below the window, but it musta been fine cause it ended up flying away. but they say bitds & animals see the reflection of the outdoors in windows & often times can't tell that it's a window & fly, or run into it. but

  • That poor robin.... it is either trying to chase away it's reflection or it is trying to get in.....

  • i think the bird wants to eatz ur plant... LOL.

  • @ccoraxfan I have been attacked by a German shepherd before. Which was scary. But pound for pound, Macaws have the most powerful bite in the entire animal kingdom. More than a snapping turtle, more than a crocodile (pound for pound) They can produce 200 lbs of biting pressure (smaller macaws like blue and golds and scarlets) and up to 300 -350 (Hyacinth and green wings). They can crack Brazil nuts like we crack peanuts! I have been bitten many times at the bird rescue I volunteer at and it sucks

  • @mattxr2i No, I've never been bitten by a macaw. However, I have been bitten by a raven, and they can draw blood. At least they can't take off a finger, as I've heard a macaw can do! But most birds can't do that much damage, and I don't find birds very scary. Have you ever been bitten by a big dog, or seen what damage they can do? And that's "man's best friend"!

  • @ccoraxfan Have you ever been bitten by a macaw? lol. Can be quite scary lol.

  • you shouldve opened the window wen it got in close the window

  • @Gunman24681357 lol happened 2 me too yet my teacher is a pian in the ass german spy

  • get some "bird bangers" and scare every bird out of the neighborhood, but first let your neighbors know what's going on.
