Me gusta la aplicación realizada. Muy buen trabajo.

@Legolasthefirst1 Well, if the bunkai has to be exactly the same form of kata, I really don't know. If it could be different, I believe you're right in prioritizing the function, which I allign with too. On the other hand, if bunkai needs to match the kata moves, then the sequence appears to be ok to me.

@X3zi The speed of this display is irrelevant. If this bunkai is for demonstartion purposes to help remember the Kata form, in the way it might be taught to children then I see your point, However straight off this is wrong, in the opening move he steps into backstance with his right foot, it should be the left that moves. Form and function are too entirely different things blocking and punching while the opposite empty hand comes to rest on the hip is form not function.Try it sometime for real!

@Legolasthefirst1 what may be toast is just your brains, since this bunkai display is slow motioned to aid the learning audience. As well as aikido, in a 'real situation', the more probable outcome is that the oponent won't even know what has happened, til he's layed on the ground or dead. That's because karate in general, and shotokan in particular, is based on speed, precision, and control. None of them are in self defense philosophy, if any. And that's for the 8 thumbsup as well.

ANYONE who says this bunkai is far-fetched just doesn't have the acumen to do it, so what comes out of their mouth is, "it doesn't work". That's because they are too lazy to do it right.

Um salve para os praticantes brasileiros de Karate, principalmente do estilo Shotokan. sou faixa roxa do estilo shotokan. parabéns pelo vídeo.

Nice ideas, but in all my years I've never had anyone on the street attack me in a karate stance. Also I think look more of a head lock as opposed to trying to block with the elbow! OSU!!
Okinawa kara (kode) te was an art very similar to Chin Na or even Jujitsu

This is not bunkai! Bunkai sticks strictly to the desgnated moves. This is 'oyo', and unrealistic oyo at that....

great!

Exactly its not a literal way of fighting like a lot of people think it is, but if you never train in such a way you will never know of the techniques and throws, it also helps you to appreciate the complexity of martial art unless some others like tkd. If you go to any of these hight street cash making clubs you will never do bunkai in this manner, there is more to the arts than fighting.
the kata is not far fetched, this "display" is. try any of these bunkai in a real situation or with a non pre programmed adversary and you will be toast. this type of nonsense is what has given shotokan a bad name for self defence!!
