First part in four part series based on the book by William Allison and John Fairley about the true-life figure of Percy Toplis, who led a British army mutiny during the First World War.
@Passchendaele1918 Thanks for uploading something I was too young to see first and only time round, but, must say that the programe info you gave on your page is not a synposis but a complete bloody plot spoiler !!!!!!! Just in case you missed it, Bruce Willis is a Ghost, the Titanic sinks and kevin Spacey is Keyser Soze.... ;)
It's funny how we reflect on war. I'm an Australian, and my ancestors served in British/Australian armed forces. I think it's vital never to forget the sacrifice made by so many young men for their countries (when they did so nobly). But in Australia on Anzac Day, no-one is ever told about the countless Aussie diggers who used to kill the Huns in cold blood in WW1, and Japs in WW2. I imagine it's the same in Britain. It makes me feel sick to know that happened, same with this story here
@sturatcliffe haha, Thanks for bringing this back up. I think Ive forgoton what the guy said about the plot :)

what kind of bruises does a birch rod leave and why is so painful versus say a belt or cane?

I was birched when I was a student. 12 strokes, just like this. Those thin twigs really do sting, especially when they cut around the side.
