  • To tell you the truth the I think the Darkness may be the closest to rock than any other new band today. They play simple riffs with solos that make you want to go nuts and air guitar to. Bands like Coldplay, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, etc. are all decent but they aren't rock. They take music TOO seriously, not saying that's bad but it's not like rock n roll. Right now the only good new bands I believe are Muse, The Darkness, The White Stripes, Eagles of Death Metal, and The Horrors. In my opinion.

  • You are partially right with the "biggest selling act" thing. The truth about this band is that they do a mock version of rock n roll. The band isn't meant to be taken seriously, but it doesn't mean they can't write a good hit. Unfortunately the band is broken up but when they return they bring out some awesome hits. It's not like everyone of there songs is a joke. The truth about the Darkness is that they brought something back that new bands forgot about, rock isn't meant to be serious.

  • @thedarknessareawsome the Aerosmith song is Dream On, I dunno bout the AC/DC one sorry

  • @barrywinehousexp well said man I like the eloquence too (genuinely - no sarcasm meant) and just so you know it's Hawkins not Hawking :)

  • this band got dissed by liam gallagher :D

  • at 1:37 and onwards what are the songs acdc ___ Aerosmith____

  • he's right.

  • Tenacious D is self conscious, annoyingly and douchebaggerifically so. Spinal Tap doesn't get the genre specific parody down right. The Darkness make those two look like the pandering cynical fucklechucks they really are --the Hawking bros. have a great attitude and were (and are) out there to pull off THEIR music, which they do with technical brilliance and whimsical satire lyrically. It's quintessentially English, moreover.

  • I find them nothing like Tenacious D but listen to Black Shuck and in the part where Justin is saying, "And his eyes!" and "As the flaming priest" sound a bit like Jack Black. Which is funny cus the title has "Black" in it....ha...ha...bad joke.
