The Franklin Park Conservatory: Downtown Annex will bring a piece of Franklin Park Conservatory to the heart of downtown Columbus. Currently located 2 miles east of downtown, the Conservatory isn't reaching its potential and attracting the crowd it could if more centrally located. The Downtown Annex, located at I-670 near the corner of Park St. and W. Goodale St. on what is currently a concrete freeway cap, will attract more conventions and visitors to Columbus, specifically the Arena District and Short North areas. The Downtown Annex will boast convenient event space and will serve as a perfect location for weddings, receptions, and meetings. Small plant, flower, and art exhibitions will also be featured. The Franklin Park Conservatory: Downtown Annex will enhance the image of Columbus, entice people to the downtown area, and will stimulate needed economic development.
