Devastation reigns in Bangladesh after a deadly cyclone hit the country. Here's a look at the deadly wake of Cyclone Aila.
The latest seasonal monsoon in Bangladesh has killed at least 130 and forced thousands from their homes.
Cyclone Aila has left at least 200 dead in Bangladesh and eastern India combined, while millions have been stranded by the floodwaters and are living in temporary shelters.
In Bangladesh, the cyclone triggered tidal surges that forced inhabitants out of their homes.
Carrying as much of their belongings as possible, many struggled to wade through the flood waters.
Officials in Bangladesh have moved about half a million people to temporary shelters.
[Shariful Islam, Villager]:
"All the people of our village were in the cyclone shelter, with their cattle. The roads and land were under four feet of water. Our houses flooded, so all the men, women, and children took shelter here."
Large areas for crops have been destroyed by the storm and survivors are facing a shortage of food and drinking water.
The cyclone swept through many areas still recovering from Cyclone Sidr in November 2007, which killed 3,500 people and left at least a million homeless.
Officials say the death toll from Aila is expected to rise in coming days.
Sidr killed more than 3,500. There were another est 3,000 fishermen unaccounted for.
