  • does this story appear on the recording? I am considering buying this song, but if it is interrupted by his little story I'll look for someone else's recording.

  • @SeattleWaffle The recording doesn't have the story. It's a good copy to have.

  • @SeattleWaffle If you are looking for a good version, I recommend the version that LaurenOC12 has on youtube. Check it out, a bit different, more instruments, but a great version.

  • Damn for the life of me I can't figure out why he adds that story in the middle of it in both performances I've seen. I mean, it's interesting and unique, but I wonder what was going through his mind when he decided to do that.

  • Not to be a jerkoff, the guy's a good musician, but he sings this like a barista. This is a song for old men.

  • sorry guys...i like all music, but this guy did this all wrong to my taste. laurenOC12 did this way better. this guy just drudges on.and on.andon.andon.andon.....

  • I need to get this album omg

  • O' Death.. we will meet one day

  • @SeattleWaffle Did you get the album? it's one of my favorites

  • @AndrewCopland samamidons is better. especially his album version.

  • tabs please?

  • anyone know the chord progression he uses?

  • Being from the Mountains of Wva . Ive heard this song sung at more than a couple funerals. Honestly it needs to be sung without instruments just like the way good ole Ralph Stanley does it.

  • I have his album, I bought it after seeing his performance as second act not ever hearing of him before and it happens to be one of my favorite CD's out of my collection of music. You will not be disappointed.
