  • there are millions...or billions of compositions made. no one is going to know what you're talking about...

and i'm only one minute in but this orchestra AND pianist have sooo much energy!!! i love it!

  • Whoa!!!! Talk about "tickling the ivory" :-+). i haven't listened to any of Andre Watts' performances for many years now, but i'm VERY glad that i stumbled across this one.... YouTube is a wonderful resource for people who love good music but don't have the time or money to put together a good library of their own. So many people are ready willing and able to share their recordings with the world - it is heart-warming!!

As a pianist myself, I was shocked when videoed how I made strange faces. and was open mouthed often. It was something I thought pretentious or theatre. Truth is, when playing these more difficult works, it's actually quite physical as well as emotional, hence gasps for breath and some odd faces in an expressive segment..

That said, it can be cute too.

These works always need to be interpreted passiontately not mechanically. Musicians who "feel" the music, offer their own version with emotion, rather than the robots (whilst great technically) who don't contribute their own feelings. JIMO.

  • Watts is my Homie.

  • How does he do this - so amazing - I'm breathless......

  • Fantastico concerto. Mendelsshon è il più sottovalutato dei compositori assolutamente al pari di Mozart, Bach o Beethoven!

  • What a different sound from the russian and asian virtuosi!

  • love the way he mouths the melody!!

  • The orchestra's dresscode is just ridiculous! Great playing though

  • @iluvKH4eva well that i think is where you are wrong sorry but classical radio always have ads saying calming classics etc, but the whole scope of classic music brings me every type of emotion not just hackneyed performances of moonlight sonata first movement etc, they almost say you have to be a geriatric to enjoy it!

  • amazing!
