I was asked to do a Apophysis 3D Hack tutorial for a user on SheezyArt and so here it is ^^ Please note, this is my first tutorial for anything - and I do make a few mistakes. Also the recording quality may not be as good as I like or the audio as loud, but I think it should be ok.

There are four parts to this tutorial, make sure you catch the rest ^^

  • GOOD JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB :]

  • @poopedhole THAAAAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOOOOOU :)

  • about the rendering, you can put the detail of the image at 100, then press the full screen button, and then press the "prtscr" button, also known as the screen shot button. then paste onto photoshop. it cant have a different color background but its like 5 seconds. you might want to explain that also or something. just tellin ya.

  • I know you can do that. It really isn't a good habit to get into though. You will never get the quality you want on larger or smaller fractals i.e. it makes it very difficult to make very detailed desktops etc. And as you said you can't keep the transparency without rendering.

I'm not saying it's a bad way to test your fractals but I would highly recommend always rendering for the final go.

  • Oh I've always wanted to create these since I found out about them on DeviantART :D thanks for starting me off

    xx

  • Good luck experimenting. I'm glad I could help ^^

  • Thank you for saying that and clearing it up. I forgot that it matters what computer you are on - I always use the same one for Apophysis.

    Thank you for the comment.

  • Great tut! One note I might make in the rendering phase is oversampling. To say that oversampling doesn't matter isn't 100% correct, it depends on the type of processor you have (I think).

An OS setting of 2 should only be used with a computer that uses a duo core processor or better. A single core processor will get bogged down and render painfully slow at OS 2.

I can render a complex 3200x3200 fractal at 4000Q and OS1 in about 11 hours, but with OS2 set it would take 5 days lol. Not fun :)

  • Thank you very much for the compliments I'm very glad you enjoyed the videos ^^

  • do you have any advanced tutorials? i'm interested in generating more complex and/or symmetric shapes. also, any help on animating would be much appreciated! :)
