Light is Served! 1 of 5 Light Painting viral commercials created by Tak+Pipslab for the launch of the new Ford Kuga. It's made live on camera with just a few post... Truly amaaaazing!!!! Check them all on: www.takkuroha.com
I think that this effect is done using 2 films, one has an effect on it to only see bright lights and holds them and the other is just the rugular film of them performing it then the films are overlaid to get this
this can be easily done, even with a phone camera. the trick is removing all the dark parts of each frame and keeping the most bright parts (this can be done in aftereffects using extract keying) then blending frames over time(using time blend effect). then you will need to add it on top of the original video.
@TheGuyTakingPictures Thanks for finally putting this to rest for me! I've been wracking my brain to figure out how its done..

i know what bulb photography is, this is not it. theres no way to record/play the light live, you only get the final result
