Heifler Quartet ,students of The Colburn school. Yun Tang,Violin(star of the Chan Kaige movie "Together") Matthew Maffett,Viola Yina Tong,Cello Sichen Ma,Piano
This has to be one of the most underrated pieces of Mozart. It's as dark and expressive as any of his g minor compositions, and the contrast between piano and the strings is sublime.
It's strange to me the much simpler first g minor symphony is much more popular than this incredible composition.
This was definitely a greater piece than his g minor quintet judging it on the merits of both work's 1st movements.Except on occasion, the music of Haydn, Mozart and early Beethoven's 1st movement was usually the most important since it usually being the 1st written had the initial inspiration of the piece within. Why some people remain stubborn and refuse to accept this obvious fact by listening to the composition,I don't understand. The other 2 movements were only mandatory THEN,to complete it.
