@anea2508 if macedonia is renamed north macedonia or upper macedonia, how will it help greece to deny the history of macedonia or the partition of macedonia (1913). SFR Jugoslavia was a founding member of the UN, SR Macedonia was a founding republic of Jugoslavia, the UN is well aware of macedonia.

@constanceone I am from Macedonia and i know that. The thing is they have a problem with the name Macedonia now.
-
@anea2508 greece denies macedonia, the slavs have lived in the balkan and macedonian from the 6th century till today, why would anybody insist on changing the name. if you are greek, why not attend the athen public library or university library, search the newspaper archive to consider your countries coverage of the large earthquake in skopje, macedonia in 1963. you will realise that your newspapers in 1963 had no problem with the name macedonia.

Macedonia was under Ottoman occupation till 1913, when by the Treaty of Bucharest, it was divided into neighboring states. The Aegean Macedonia was awarded to Greece, Pirin in Bulgaria and the Vardar part of Macedonia (today's Macedonia) became a part of Serbia. Now Macedonia is a independent, sovereign state. That's just the way it is. And all i want is peace between Macedonia and its neighbor Greece. Why don't we try to have that?
-
Only if Alexander the Great was a greek warrior (still, we can't know for sure), doesn't mean that Macedonia is greek. MACEDONIA is MACEDONIAN. It is independent, sovereign state now, so deal with it. And plus, Kiro Gligorov was the first democratically elected president of Macedonia, not 'Skopjan' prime minister. And don't act stupid, start calling Macedonia with it's real name, MACEDONIA. Act human.

@constanceone "Saints Cyril and Methodius (Greek: Κύριλλος καὶ Μεθόδιος, Old Church Slavonic: Кѷриллъ и Меѳодїи[more]) were two Byzantine Greek brothers born in Thessaloniki in the 9th century.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][
10] They became missionaries of Christianity among the Slavic peoples of Bulgaria, ..They are credited with devising the Glagolitic alphabet, the first alphabet used to transcribe Old Church Slavonic." Your history knowledge is not based on facts. Start to read some real history
Im albanian and i dont like very much greeks but this time they are right Alexander was helenic-greek warrior and you have to admit it you are slavic people so dont legate yourself to the historical macedonia of alexander cuz that means to manipulate the history
