Chain maille weaves can be difficult to start. This tutorial shows an easy way for the full Persian using two wire ties.

  • Glad it helped. Chain maille is sometimes difficult to figure out in a written format. Also using some kind of aid - twist ties, wire, binder clips...anything.. is handy as it's hard to keep all the rings in the right place before adding more rings.

  • No, they don't have to. They may not have the equipment to do so. For someone learning to make jewelry, it is best they start with bought rings. Also, where would one draw the line? Why not draw the wire as well? For example, many jewelry artisans work with gemstones that have been cut and polished by others ( lapidary artisans).

  • These are 18G 1/4" rings. You might like to check out the static tutorial on my blog

  • Search Youtube - there might be one already ;-)

  • Glad it helped. Alas, I don't have the tutorial you want.

  • Try the Ring Lord or Metaldesignz. Have fun!

  • All of the other videos start out with three sections, then you're suppose to squash them together and put in links who knows where. Your technique was amazingly easier! I got it right away. If there was a chainmail teaching award, you would win first prize!

  • This is hands down the best video on this subject, THANK YOU !

  • Thank you *SO* very much for this video. I just wasn't "getting it" with the instructions I've found & was frustrated with the starts - your twist tie method makes it so much easier. I had the weave done in a very short amount of time.

  • This would take fucking ages and I know I would get fucking confused.

    Classic chainmail is fucking easy.

  • I think if someone claims to "make" jewelry, they should also make the jump rings as well.

  • muchas gracias por el tutorial, la he podido hacer y queda preciosa.

  • Brilliant! Thank you for the tut. I've been struggling with the other way to construct this weave (starting with a 2X2X2). Your method rocks!

  • Thanks for the great how to. Persian doesn't seem as scary now.

  • what size rings are being used? What is the ID (inside diameter) in mm?or the out side diameter?
