Home made X-ray, First tests!

X-ray with a modified ZVS driver for anode supply and a triac regulator + transformer for heater control. The tube was made in Czechoslovakia, 1960-1970s, it is directional (almost no back scatter xrays). Input voltage ca. 45 kV.

A Geiger counter placed 15cm away from the hollow point goes nuts - more than 500 mR/h at this distance - I bet its 3-15 R/h.

The spots on the film when the device is on are the effects of ionizing radiation hitting the cameras CCD. yep you got some xrays there probably a few betas and gammas too.......cool !

@MrDrimogemon Voltage might be 40 kV under load, current a few hundred microamps. The tube is Chirana, a Czechoslovak production.
