A very beautiful Polish song, called "Partisan Waltz".

Sung by me in Finnish, in a concert.

  • It's beautiful.

I haven't known up till now, that this song is so popular out of Poland.

My granny was singing it for me as a lullaby.

    I love it :)

In Finnish it sounds as well as in Polish.

    Thank You.

  • @okosledzika You're welcome! It truly is a beautiful song, and in Finland it was made famous by Arja Saijonmaa.

Thank you for your lovely comment. :)

  • Tavattoman kaunis!

  • @MrJukkapartanen Lämmin kiitos! :)

  • Beatuful performance. Too bad the recording tecnically sux. Thanks anyway.

Basically it tells of a man going to war, who regrets he can't be with his love today as his duty with his brothers calls. And if bad comes to worse. he may never return. But even then the girl should not regret, but think that every crop she seeds with te help of the brother of the man, the land with is part of him, every harvest has his spirit in it. And kiss and remember him them as it was him instead.

  • @Joonavainio My apologies for the weak quality of the recording. This was filmed with an amateur video camera, at an amateur concert. But thank you very much for the comment and translating the story! :)

    It is my pleasure :)

Especially to listen to such an affecting song. I do not mind the tech quality. It sounds even more realistic then a studio record. I really love it. I did not realise, that song in Polish, harsh language would fit to such a melodic and smooth Finnish language. It’s fantastic. Thank You once again :)

No voihan piru! En edes huomannut, että vastasin suomennoksen ketjuun, enkä alkuperäseen. Heh. Puolalainenkin loytyy täältä, kuten varmaan hyvin tiedät. Ja sen äänitys on vissiin aika wanha.

  • @NinuskiTjinuski

Apology unnecessary, and thank you. I think the recording quality gives a bit of "old charm" to it. Unintended or not. This song is very popular in Finland, although it was ironically adopted by the reds during the civil war (who lost, unlike in Russia).

  • @PstSpede

Joopa. Replying in English so the others know. This tells of other partisans than the Soviet Russkie "partisans" who murdered women, children and elderly civilians in Karelia. In fact, I think this was composed when Poles fought Russians around 1st world war war or so. Partisans in the real sense of the word, not NKVD death squads.

  • partisaanit pitäis tappaa kaikki... vieläkin... laulu hieno ja esittäjä osaa asiansa. tää tykkää...
