How to shift a 6 speed eaton fuller transmission and proper double clutching procedure and rev match. DRIVING FROM SANDALS MOBAY TO CPJ FREEPORT IN THE INTERNATIONAL 4700 TRUCK dt466e engine [HD]
to the driver of the 2004 truck, you probably couldn't drive the truck shown, the good old days trucks had gated gears, used to take me a whole day to drive them properley. times i had to stop and start all over again. the men went up the road, left truck and walked back, refusing to drive it. My truck has an eaton twin spitter, you probably couldn't drive that either So remember DOUBLE DECLUTCH. No damage done to gearbox smooth shift or don't use clutch except for pulling away from standstill
I hear it both ways for someone still kind of interested in getting CDL its still confusing. So far only thing I've heard EVERYONE say is instructors REQUIRE you to double-clutch.
Nice driving. Proper shifting for a 1930 Ford Model A with the double clutching but there is no need in a modern day truck with a fully synchronized trans. I drive a 2004 4300 DT466 same trans as this truck and use the clutch to start out in first gear and thats it. After that get the RPM's about right (doesn't have to be exact like some claim) ease off the gas and yank on your lever. If it gives you a hastle when down shifting just rev it a little and it'll go right in. No disrespect tho.
