  • Filmed at Union Chapel in London I think

  • Wonderful, as others have said - but am I alne here in thinking that the star of this is BBC Four. They've given us John Martyn, Richard Thompson, Danny Thompson, Ivor Cutler, Robert Wyatt etc etc

  • Good point. In the midst of the inane nonsense that fills the airwaves I often chance across something fabulous on BBC4. Shut down ITV and give the Beeb the cash, I reckon!

  • What a fantastic performance! Anyone know when or where this was recorded? Is there any more? Please post if there is!

  • On BBC TV a little while ago. I have the concert on my Sky box so I'll try to post some more when I get the time

  • Great song. Great voice. Great guitar. Hats not to like

  • ahhhhh

    thank you

  • @TheRestlesswind ... and to think!!! I believed all the rubbish. Now I only scratch my head in disbelief and pity for the one who is so dis-respected!!!

Married ogres should only be tickled by their children and spouse... but 'strange affairs' abound here!!!

Beautiful song and singer when all is said and done... thanks!!

  • Martin Simpson backing June Tabor, singing a song written by Richard Thompson - how could this not be totally awesome?! :D

Thanks to chrissuddes for uploading :D

  • Woooow! What can one say, this is sooooooooooo superb! Absolutely stunning performance... Love it to bits...

  • They recorded it before, in 1980, on June Tabor's third solo album, "A Cut Above." And I think that may be the best version of this song, even better than Richard & Linda Thompson's original version.

  • This song will be on the upcoming cd from Martin Simpson to be released in September.
