Some one I know who claims to be a Christian told me he believes the whole bible. When I asked him if he actually read it he said no but they had sermons when he went to church so he believes what the bible says.

@rkyeun Rather than doing a lot of math equasions and trying to speculate when these story are true on that basis.you could just ask them to show just one shread of evidence than couraborates their crazy stories!

If he can calculate the volume of a cylinder, the distance a person could walk in a day, and the density of poultry, ask him to find the mass of the corpses delivered to the Israelis in Numbers 11:31.
Then look up the total biomass of the world, and ask if he believes the Bible.

I think it is something more "recent", actually.
Our conscioussness is something peculiar (we are the only species to be able to use to investegate itself... like language, we are the only species to be able to use it to investigate it, think of meta language, the grammar). Anywar a too complex theme to write about in less than 500 letters!

Great exposition of the burdens of proof Christianity holds.
I think the next battle darwinism will have to fight is against the concept that mind cannot be produced by a process of evolution taking place within the brain.
What is paradoxical is that evolution seems have programmed our brains to be instinctively dualist!

@barefootID Probably. As the human brain evolved, it didn't get rid of alot of the old brain elements. The old "Reptile" brain still sits at the base of what we think of the brain-proper, influencing our emotions more that we would care to admit! :)

@OnceUponProducitions You can't use the BIble to prove the BIble. That's circular reasoning. You might as well say every word in the Odessy, or the Illiad, OR Harry Potter is true.
