Bryan Woodman (Matt Damon) is the economic advisor of Prince Nasir Al-Subaai (Alexander Siddig) in the controversial movie Syriana. Matt tells the Prince what the Americans are up to in the oil-rich Gulf.

Yeah you're so right...But there's too much momentum in the whole system, so not too much that we (individuals) can do.
Oil has most probably reached it's peak (in annual production) and so will everything else (we use oil for extracting every other resource... and of course transportation and chemicals/fertilizers). It's horrible how we literally burned it all for nothing and we have nothing that could act as a substitute nor an infrastructure that works without oil. It's soooo loony. cheers

50-75 years from now our grandkids are gonna ask us: "You had the greatest natural resource in history and you were fighting wars over it and trading it like gold. What did you do with it?"
And we're gonna have to find a way to not come off as idiots when we tell them that:
"Uh... we just burned it."
