In 2003 a man put a Browning 30-06 rifle on consignment for sale at the Ellwood Epps Sporting Goods store in Orillia, Ontario. A customer came in a few days later and purchased the rifle, so the store manager called the Canadian Firearms Centre to transfer the firearm to the customer.
The Canadian Firearms Centre refused the transfer, saying the rifle had been reported stolen 11 years earlier.

The Canadian Firearms Centre could not explain why three separate registration certificates were issued for the rifle AFTER it had been reported stolen. Of course.

  • I'm only guessing but wouldn't criminals be bringing any kind of gun they want accross the border from the US? meaning the only people registering their guns are the ones least likey to use them in crime. How does that make anyone safer?

  • @shazdee You are 100% correct. Tracking the law-abiding doesn't do anything to keep people safer. But it DOES waste $100 million dollars every year to track the people who are NOT the problem.

We don't bother keeping track of the people who are the problem, like violent criminals. It doesn't have to make sense. It's government policy.

  • the gun registry does nothing to protect lawful firearms owning citizens. It does nothing to protect law enforcement officers. Why do we have the gun registry again?

  • How much months u get or years if u get caught with a gun? Do bullets add up to the years or months?

  • I had bought a Over/Under 12Ga and had to return the firearm due to the fact It had a manufacturing flaw. Two months later I found out the firearm was still registered in my name even though CFC had told me over the phone the transfer had been completed. What if someone had committed a crime with that firearm? .... I have heard of firearms being registered to two or more people at a time and worse.

  • @drgroove101 TO STRIP you off the ability to fight back when they tell you to report to a freedom camp.

  • Gun registration does nothing to prevent crime. All it does is let's big brother know who is armed when the gun bans come.

  • @kateysfirearmsfacts Couldn't agree more!

  • Yeah! So much for the long gun registry! KILL IT ALREADY! Waste of money!

  • There should never be any surprise over government ineptness. Just think about their incentive structure compared to any free enterprise organization. The more they fail at their job the more funding they get and the higher the salaries go to the top managers.

  • Stop stop stop... I can't watch these anymore. Its pissing me off to much...
