March 16, 2009 -- As the New Hampshire House of Representatives considers HB 648, a bill that would make the Granite State the 14th state to recognize marijuana as medicine, Lakes Region Community College in Laconia hosted this public forum. Moderator: College President Mark Edelstein. Pro-HB 648: Matt Simon (NHCompassion.org), Rep. James Pilliod (R-Belmont, a physician and cosponsor of HB 648), and Sandy Drew (a retired RN who suffers from MS and finds relief with medical marijuana). Anti-HB 648: Chief Richard Crate (Enfield PD), Attorney Karin Eckel (from the AG's office), and Skip Murphy (GraniteGrok.com).

The New Hampshire House passed bill HB 648 today(3/25/09), 234-138, that would allow seriously ill patients to use medical marijuana if their doctor recommends it a first for either chamber of the state's legislature. Now lets get this compassionate bill passed in the Senate and signed by the governor into law !
