I created this video with a couple fellow co-students as part of a nursing school project. As you will see...we were definitely "students"...as our assessment techniques were not totally up to par;)

  • Ok...this was a "nursing school project" in our 1 class of emergent nursing in 4 years. I am now an RN BSN in a level 1 trauma center where we deal with these same situations on a daily basis...unscripted. Yes, we could have planned things a bit differently...now that I know what "real life" ER nursing is about. I am not ashamed of this video...it was a learning tool and consumed lots of time we didnt have in nursing school. I now find humor in watching this vid. Thanks for watching.

  • @SpankyTM I don't think you should be ashamed either. My Dad is a RN. I'm getting my Associates Degree in Medical Assisting as we speak. After I accomplish that, I plan on going back for my RN degree.

  • 96% SAT O2 isn't too bad. Allergic to sea shells though? You should ask if he's allergic to penicillen, red dye, wheat germ, eggs, etc... Respiration was a little low. And no offense, unless you have had a fractured leg, arm, don't tell the patient "I know" because you don't know.

  • I am a medical officer's wife!

How many life lost? how many life save (safe)? lets all warriors know that they will no long-term psychological trauma; and not alone in dealing with a psychological wound or traumatic brain injury!

I always remember my husband he said: "There's nothing classified or secret about we do. At the end of the day, it's just all about saving lives!", I am proud of him, he is my hero in my life forever!

God Bless Our military and their families!!

  • wow, wonderful

  • My favorite part is when she says, "are you allergic to Seashells?" hee hee

  • How do you become a patient for the nursing schools like this guy? I have wanted to be one for a while.

  • Wow, as an EMT we always tried to get a report like that but it never went like that. We gave basics, loc? vitals, mechinism of injury... we were lucky to get that out.

  • I'm going to Graduate from Medical Assisting and then take my 14 courses that I have left so I can do Nursing. I'll have a Bachelors just like my Daddy. =)

  • good job on the bedside manner. We had to do something similar in Clinical, but our teacher got on to us about not saying "I know I know, I'm sorry." We're not supposed to say "I know" because we honestly don't know unless we experienced the same thing. BP was a little low. Pulse Ox was good. Should have checked for allergies for penicillen, red dye, whest germ, eggs, etc.
