@veras87 I TOTALLY agree with you, camxcstud. Seeing how half-mile GREATS with TERRIFIC LEG SPEED like Coe, Kipketer, Ovett, and Gray were either BARELY UNDER 47 or running 47-lows, it's IMPOSSIBLE for Wheating to BREAK 47. Just look at his "kick" at the end. No FORM to speak of, no smooth TURNOVER, no BURST OF POWER. That is NOT a SPEED MAN'S FINISH!!!

@camxcstud No WAY Wheating is breaking 46! Maybe if he TRAINED and FOCUSED SOLELY on the quarter, he could run a LOW-47. Otherwise, I'd saw 48-FLAT is about the BEST he can HOPE FOR in PEAK MIDDLE DISTANCE SHAPE. In the 200, he'd be running LOW-22s. In the 100, he's probably HAVE TROUBLE winning the TITLE in my HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE MEET!!!

Again, Wheating needs to MOVE UP to the MILE or even the THREE MILE to have a shot at INTERNATIONAL GREATNESS. He has NO BUSINESS running the HALF!!!

It's too bad that Khadevis Robinson is now RELEGATED to the role of a PAID RABBIT. He had a TON OF TALENT but, in MY opinion, never ran to his FULL POTENTIAL. He certainly had the LEG SPEED (44-sec quarter miler) and GUTS (go out HARD) to be another Earl Jones or Johnny Gray. His NARROW miss at the '08 trials was kinda HEARTBREAKING since it was his LAST SHOT at an Olympic team. Still, I've got to GIVE HIM PROPS for still RUNNING PROFESSIONALLY AT 34 to provide for his family.

TYPICAL Wheating - SITTING BACK for most of the race, then trying to STEAL it in the last 150 meters. But as ALWAYS, too LITTLE, too LATE. Maybe IF he had the BALLS to run alongside Robinson's SHOULDER for the first 600 meters, he WOULD HAVE beaten Kaki. But as USUAL, he runs a CHICKEN SH*T race and LOSES.

As I've been saying, Wheating has NO SPEED, only STRENGTH (hence the 3:30). He should MOVE UP to the 3K or even the 5K. That's his ONLY HOPE FOR GREATNESS.
