@damrak1969 sorry I missed your post about the fine tuners but ya I agree. Funny mine also go a bit sharp when locking down. Anticipating this I tune a bit flat or set the fine tuners more in than out. That way I have more room to flatten out the note.

Great video! I may have missed it but you might want to mention setting the fine tuners halfway. Nothing worse than going through all the work then finding out your a bit flat and realizing that the fine tuner is all the way in and nowhere to go. Also, I have heard that you should never adjust the bridge plate height adjusting screws while at full tension. It dulls the knife edge and makes intonation/tuning harder in the future. Is this true?

You might want to do one additional video for this series about tightening the lock nuts down and setting the fine tuners. Also, you might talk about how the locknut can sometimes raise the string pitch when you tighten them. Mine does that sometimes and I'm not sure why and I'm wondering if I have a nut problem. I enjoyed watching these.

@rptoth I'm no expert but I'd look and see if the bridge is floating evenly with the guitar's body. If you're strings have too much tension the backside of the bridge will stick up.

Hello! I have a Jackson DK2H (it has floyd rose) which came w/ .09 gauge by factory default. I'd like to use .11 (or maybe .12) gauge in drop D tunning. Will I need an extra spring to maintain enough tension? (I can take it off from my other guitar) Maybe I should visit a tech with this problem. Or can i handle it?
Thanx!

Guitars can take a lot of work. I'm still learning, but I've learned a lot from these videos.
in your experience do you think the tremelo(edge 3) on a jem555 will stay in tune well

It all depends on how you use and take care of your guitar, frequently changing tuning will make it less precise but it is very good guitar and should keep good for many years...

Ok, i've had this happen to me a couple of times before. I will post a quick video response tomorrow in order for you to see and understand where the problem comes from and how to fix. It's no big deal and can be easily arranged, it's a very common and harmless thing.

Ok, quick question, I changed the strings on my Ibanez and now the bridge is not level or should i say its not at the normal position. When I tune it, and it tightens the string it pulls the bridge even high. If I adjust the spring tension will that solve my problem?

It might have to do with the spring tension but it depends on what problems are involved. Do you have fret buzz, or is it just freqent disturbance in your tuning ?.. It might also have to do with the aging of your springs, after a good while the springs start to get used up and have a hard time (espescially if you drop c and tune back up alot). There are many possibilities and the more details you give me the better i could help you..
