This is a preview for an upcoming public television documentary on Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior. ....................................................................
There are no year-round residents on this island, not even park rangers. The winter weather is too severe. You can hike and paddle and explore its rugged coast for days without seeing another person. Situated in northwestern Lake Superior, its physical isolation and its primitive wilderness challenge visitors. As a result, it's the least visited national park in the country, but it has the largest percentage of return visitors. Michigan's Isle Royale National Park consists of one large island surrounded by about 400 smaller islands. It's the largest island in the largest of the great lakes.

Rolf Peterson leads the Island's wolf-moose study.
