See my blog on salmon. Thompson's statement is not accurate (to be generous) and is part of an effort to shift the debate from farmers vs. radical enviros to farmers vs. salmon fishermen. In defense of Congressional inaction related to the California water crisis, Mike Thompson suggests San Joaquin Valley residents are water thieves - having benefited from illegal biological decisions.
Why cant southern San Joaquin Valley farmers get their water from over the hills to the west , from the ocean? There is plenty of water there. Why do I have to worry about how much water i use when they are growing water hungry plants, like cotton and tomatoes? And what about the delta farmers? Funny that when I watch videos of protests from water users from down south, most of them can't even speak english, some even carrying signs written in spanish. Are the jobs lost, seasonal workers?

Congressman Thompson isn't the smartest cookie around.. All of a sudden he is a Salmon Expert! How much money did they give him to say that speech? How many millions of dollars this state is going to lose when there are no jobs.. Look at the increase in price on food... I thought the only salmon thompson was interested in was the one in between his wifes legs..........

Did he just blame it all on George Bush?

But it's ok to shut the water off to all of the other farmers? I'm so sick of this bullsh*t! America should be the most prosperous country in the world, with everyone enjoying the fruits of their labor. Instead, we are heading toward third-world status, because of progressives that have taken control of D.C. with these infected lobbies and special interests. All I can say is, we are tired. So tired. Exhausting all of our options. The time is coming soon, that we will not take this anymore.
