Can anyone explain how the slow sequence of the helecoptor takeoff was captured with the 300S ?
-
Hey lotusjohn
I can promise you, the entire movie was shot with a Nikon D300S.
The shutter speed in combinations with the rpm of the rotors can create that effect.

Sweet images! I have got the 300s and it's a good camera, fast and easy to handle if you once got a feeling for it. Thx for uploading

Nice! Question: Are the stills taken from the video or are they actual stills? Thanks

Hi there, may I know what software was used to edit this video? Thanks

@photolitherland ha convert

@photolitherland but all the people who use it for both will use the video. You get alot more flexibility from a $1500 dslr than a video camera of the same price. Interchangeable lenses, smaller size, longer battery life, great image quality with good video quality. It makes more sense to buy a dslr to take pictures and video than to use a camcorder to do both.

I am very impressed by the slow motion hellicopter takeoff. I thought 5d mark2 is the best reachable priced video camera at market, but now i see d300s is a competitor for it.
i just got the camera but i am having a problem with it ..... it will not take pictures or videos and i want to reset it ... is there any way to do that

I'd really like to know what lenses were used in this video. I am looking to get a couple of decent ones for this type of shooting. The better in low-light whilst recording the better, so needs to be fast. Any tips?

@TheGift73
We used a lot of different lenses !
It startet with a 10-24mm and endet with a 200-400 and a 600mm lens.
So, it realy depense on the situation you're shooting.
