I went November 2008.
Personally I think the Milford Nature Cruise was the better for value, commentary and experience. The Tasman Sea was awesome from the bows.

i went to doubtful sound in April 2008. The crew said that we had the best weather they had ever experienced...no rain, clear skies and warm sun! spectacular!

Very Nice. Was at Doubtul sound last year in January in the rain. Was our second trip to NZ . Was there to greet the year 2000.

Long trip from NY to South Island I might add.

This is great - I was at Doubtful Sound on 7th January and the weather was nearly perfect, just a bit windy. I've done Milford and Doubtful Sounds, and Doubtful is the one I would recommend. Thanks for the memories!
