@younggunsfan Simple misconception. Neither of us are to blame. I just found that Mario 3D land took a lot of the good things from every game (sadly, no Yoshi though, but as of recent years my respect for Yoshi has been plummeting...) But whatever. I guess the star coins are NSMB, but that's about it. Good game all around though. Just wish it was a bit harder. I'm on S6 Ghost house getting all the star coins. I have 297 lives (entirely legitimate too), and all other star coins before hand... ugh

Eh. Anyways By NSMB, I just meant the simplicity of it. Anyways, its just supposed to be like the Old Mario Platformers in the Third Diminsion.

@younggunsfan What Nintendo says and what nintendo does aren't guaranteed to be the same. I could say I'm a guy, and really be a girl. Point is, other than graphics and level selection (which is traditional) I don't see anything like NSMB in this. I can definitely see the Galaxy based gameplay the more I look at it though. My initial thought was all of the wii-mote stuff. You know, spin jump, spin swim... spinning and aiming. But I still feel like it's more SM64 than SMG.

@knowwhoiamyet It EXACTLY is that.. Its a hybrid. Its Mario Galaxy with NSMB. Its obvious. Even Nintendo said it was based heavily off SMG

@younggunsfan New Super Mario Bros... 2 Dimensional playing field... Mario 3D Land... Not 2D playing field... It isn't really like New Super Mario Bros at all. =S

Just because it doesn't have the gravitation of the Galaxy engine doesn't mean it's like NSMB. It's more like Mario 64 with Mario Bros 3's powerup system.
