  • I really took your answer to heart John.

I'm in my first year of college; majoring in Animation. I am taking the basics and I'll study hard because you said so. :) I'm inspired to become an animator with every movie released by Disney & Pixar since Toy Story, 1995. I was four years old; I even had my own Woody & Buzz toys and pretended to be Andy because I thought he was so cool. (He still is!) :D

I can't wait until the day I get to meet you. My long awaited dream to animate for Pixar. :)

  • Good question! Being an aspiring animator myself...at least for 2d animation, this helped me out!

  • can i have anymore advice to a path to pixar?

  • @fahmad27 nope its not tool late. im 23 and gonna be doing my final year in animation at uni from september. hopefully i should get a good grade!

  • I'm almost 22, is it too late? I'm majoring in Elementary Education Fine Arts Composite (Walt Disney inspired me to get into art and story) but once I graduate I hope to go to an animation school.

  • @lightyearewe

What you take in high school really won't affect your college career. Once you get to college, high school will just be one big joke.

  • I want to be an animator! But what should you take in High School?

  • @jasonrosensrebel You think exactly the same way as me my friend :) But I'm afraid I won't achieve what I need to get there as I'm not a strong student in school. Hope all 3 off us achieve our dream! LOL

  • @RaquelGee That my dream too! and i'm only 15! Ever since i first saw Toy Story i thought that was the awesomest thing i have have ever seen! and it still is! I am so dedicated to my dream i already know what my degree is for college and my major! my major is Visualization which is animation at a college in Texas. i have written Pixar twice about my dream i have seen every single short film and movie! i really want to work here and John is one of my heroes! I HOPE WE BOTH ACHEIVE OUR DREAM!! :)

  • I'm already 21, majoring in Culinary Arts (inspired by Chefs at Walt DisneyWorld)...but since I learned to pick up a crayon and pencil @ age 2, I've painted, drawn and practiced practiced practiced...still holding on to that DREAM. And I've never studied painting or any forms of art technically but I'm quite good. even better if I'd have formal training. So, I will dream, I will aspire and I will pray...and PRACTICE, LEARN and IMPROVE. Thank you for the advice I will take dearly to heart!

  • I'm studying Industrial engineering but my life is in the music and the animation. Do I have chances of working in Pixar? Or it's just me...

  • My dream is to go into traditional animation

But what John Lasseter has taught me is that 2d or 3d animation, even if its the best animation, can't save a bad story.

Someday I'll meet that animation legend and thank him for this gem of advice.
