Motorized Hunter Douglas Vignette Blinds

This is a media room in a Las Vegas home. The homeowner did not pre wire for motorzied blinds in this room so instead of cutting into the freshly painted walls we decided on battery motorization from Somfy. We used the Somfy LT-30 Radio (RTS) Battery Motor and retrofitted the Hunter Douglas Vignette's. You cannot buy this product from Hunter Douglas direct this is a totally custom application.

The battery life is about 1 1/2 to 2 years depending on the weight of the shade and how much you use it. Each motor takes 8 Energizer E2 lithium ion batteries in the reloadable battery tubes. We used a 5 channel radio remote so no wiring was needed.

This made a nice impact in the media room which made TV viewing super nice on those sunny Saturday afternoons or great for football Sunday's as well.

The only thing that's a shame about this is how much noise the motors and gearboxes make. I'd like to do somethign like this in a bedroom, and let my automation system raise the shades in the morning, but I'd be jarred awake by the noise.
