This is one of the intro demo's of Sega Rally 2 (there are various ones with different cars and tracks).
This is recorded from the PC version. Some differences with the Dreamcast version are a better framerate (not visible on Youtube, but the PC version runs 60 fps) and different music during the intro.
Speaking of which, sadly the CD audio isn't working in Windows 2000 or newer (Win9x versions work fine), even though other Sega games don't have this problem. For this video I edited it back in.

  • I got it working with music in Windows XP 32 bits. I used the Japanese program _inmmcnf.exe (with the included _inmm.dll ) and read the disc image with an old version of Daemon Tools. I read on the internet version 3.47 of Daemon Tools is the last one that supports CDDA audio tracks, so I used 3.47 (didn't work with a recent version for me). You can find the Japanese program inmmcnf looking for this phrase on Google: "Sega Rally 2 CD-DA CDDA BGM Music Fix Patch.rar" It comes with instructions.

  • @mischachiaro thank you for the tip :)

  • Did anyone here get this to run on XP? I have the disks, but the game throws an error message whenever I go to launch it. My PC is more than capable enough, I just don't know what the hang up is.

The error message mentions something about Windows NT if that helps..

  • if it does that, you need to change XP's compatibility mode to win9x. It's in one of the tabs when you select the properties of the EXE

  • How can I save my profile? Everytime I change anything in the options menu the game crashes when it goes to the loading (track) screen.

    I wish I could play in 800x600

  • strange..never had that...

  • The music sounds like a mix of IDM and Quake 3 Arena music. Awesome.

  • Where Do You Download It?????

  • @mischachiaro Hmm... I just installed it! :D

  • @mischachiaro 12 years!!!! Thats how long ive been waiting for this. I've either had the dreamcast version with the music but with a dodgey framerate, or the pc version with a solid 60 fps without the music, now 12 years after playing the arcade for the first time I have a perfect version of this game, 60fps AND music. And its all thanks to you and this program. There are no words!!!! Thanks for that!

  • @mischachiaro awesome thanks man, im just gonna go ahead and download all that presuming itll work on 7 ultimate 32-bit :P

  • @blainyrules

I wrote what I did to make it work.

Windows XP 32 bits + Compatibility mode Win 9x + inmmcnf + Daemon Tools 3.47

  • It works assuming that you already set compatibility mode for Windows 9x.

  • is there a way to install the game on xp/ 7 and have music aswell?
