HP dv2000 emits 3 beeps and displays blank screen.

I went to turn on my beautiful HP Dv2000 laptop after playing Far Cry 2 and only to be met with 3 beeps and nothing on the screen! Turned off, tried again, still nothing but annoying (and loud!) beeps.

So i took it to the HP workshop and it cost me $434.00 for a new Motherboard.

HP has terrible quality hardware. Word of advice: Do not buy from HP. If you want a reliable windows laptop, go with ASUS.

lol i'm fixing that exact laptop rite now, has the exact same beep code, all the tech boards say its da motherfucking motherboard, yeah you cant even replace the chipset, it has to be the whole motherfucking thing, they dont even manufacture these parts any more, you gotta get them from 3rd party site refurbshd

This my friend could be one of two problems.... You either have a bad stick of RAM or your video chipset has officially went to shit, this is very unfortunate considering the dv2000's are soldered into the motherboard thus making your computer a useless POS unless you have warranty. Who knows you might be able to send it in to HP depending on the problem. Good Luck with your issues bro

I know a friend that had this same problem. Ended up when adding more ram to his laptop he didn't put it in right causing the 3 beeps and no screen display. This may not have been the problem with yours but just some helpful advice.
